I remember this as a child at home. It was in a big blue hard cover album. It brings tears to my eyes as well. I am having a classical christmas movie day on Sunday for a teen club I advise..I am going to play this for them also.
I am so excited to have found this. I think I have tried for years and finally here it is. thank you to whoever posted this.
      Merry Christmas

Oh yes, I remember the big light blue hard album cover with something white on it - a dove or more likely an angel. I heard it on the radio this morning - just the end, and I was crying! I can't listen to the lines about his toothmarked dog's collar who "lived as he died, in infinite love and devotion." Oh my. I want to download this NOW!

I see comments about "The Littlest Angel" by Loretta Young but I can't seem to download the recording of it. Is it a portion of the record or the entire record? I just found this site today so am pretty new to this.

    Thank you for this recording.
My wife just found the 45 set on e-bay and bought it for me for x-mas. We do not have a player or way to record the 45 set, so I now can listen to it on your site.
I lost my twin sister back in 1948 @ age one. My mother would play this recording to me when I got old enough to understand that my sister was in heaven. It is very special to me.
    Thanks again.

I, too, was touched to find this as I listened to it often as a child. I'm intrigued to learn if anyone also knows what was on the other side of that record of childhood? My sister would LOVE to re-hear that story as well (a little boy who was deaf perhaps....called "Hey you!" in the story). Her birthday is coming up and I'd be thrilled if I could find it for her. Thank you to all!

I loved this album as a child, but for years thought that it was read by Greer Garson. It is such a joy to find it here. @Sandy, I think that the other recording was "Lullaby of Christmas," read by Gregory Peck. Regards to all, Kim

I always love listening to this wonderful story every Christmas Eve. My mother first played for me as child and no matter how many times I hear this beautiful story I still break in to tears.Loretta Young's version portrays the emotion and imagination that this story evokes whenever I listen. No other audio version of this storycan compare to the waythat it is told by Loretta Young.
