Didn't know it even had lyrics.

Similarly, Vince Guaraldi's greatest hit,
long before Peanuts and "Linus and Lucy",
was "Cast Your Fate to the Wind". I used to sneak into my sister's room and play it over and over when she was out.

I saw a british band in the 90s that used it for an encore. Started with the familiar piano ostinato, then the singer stepped up. I honestly had no idea there were lyrics. (Pretty sure VG wrote them, but wikipedia is down today in protest to SOPA, so I can't fact-check.)

Comment on "Baby I'm Your's" Barbara Lewis 1965

In my box of singles, Barbara Lewis is represented by "Hello, Stranger". Slow, sultry, with a Hammond organ behind and the Dells doing back-up vox.

Comment on Quintet The Hot Club De France "Night and Day' 1938

I saw Stephane Grapelli at the Bottom Line in NYC in the seventies. That's him with the violin in the photo.
I had an LP of him with Gary Burton, the vibes player.

I'm like a "Wings" fan, surprised to hear McCartney was in another band previously. Only much later I heard of Django.

But I've always preferred Jack Bruce to Eric Clapton, John Cale to Lou Reed, Keith to Mick. My wife says I often pick "the wrong side" when friends divorce, too.

Comment on Andy Griffith Discussing Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" 1953

I heard this for the first time in 1958 and I was 12 years old. I was laughing so loud that my Mama came in to check on me and she began to listen and busted out laughing also. Still just as funny. Did you notice that there were no curse words or out and out sexual content and he had the listeners rolling on the floor kicking their feet in the air.

Comment on Loretta Young "The Littlest Angel"

I always love listening to this wonderful story every Christmas Eve.
